About

The Registrar of Community Housing is responsible for registering, monitoring and regulating community housing providers in New South Wales under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) and the New South Wales Local Scheme. The Registrar is an independent statutory officer reporting directly to the Minister for Family and Community Services.

Registrar of Community Housing Annual Statement of Performance 2020

We are pleased to announce the release of our Annual Statement of Performance for financial year 2019-20.

The report details our work in regulating Community Housing Providers in New South Wales under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) and the NSW Local Scheme (NSWLS). It also provides an in-depth look at what we have achieved over the year, the continual improvements and the performance of our office in ensuring a well governed, well managed and viable community housing sector.

We have made some changes this year to the format of the annual statement of performance from HTML website based format to a tableau based format. The redesign is to provide a more informative and interactive report.

Tier 1 & 2 Performance Report

The Registrar is pleased to announce the release of the Tier 1 & 2 Performance Report.

The report provides an in-depth look into the performance of Tier 1 and 2 NSW Community Housing Providers including highlights throughout the financial year, financial performance and pressures, trends and the current sector environment for the financial year ending 30 June 2020.

We have made some changes this year to the format of the Tier 1 & 2 Performance Report from HTML website based format to a Tableau based format. The redesign is to provide a more informative and interactive report. We have provided guidance throughout the report, so keep a look out, as it provides additional information. The NSW Registrar also plans to update the Tier 1 & 2 Performance Report more frequently with the aim of moving towards more real-time reporting.

The Tier 1 and 2 community housing sector is diverse and remains viable. The majority of Tier 1 and 2 providers continue to meet the benchmark level of performance with no significant issues throughout the reporting year.

Tier 3 Performance Report

The Registrar is pleased to announce the release of the Tier 3 Performance Report.

It provides insights into regulatory performance, trends and patterns in the sector. The report relies on data as at 29 February 2020.

There have been some excellent developments within the Tier 3 sector within the last two year period. Some of these include a considerable new entrant increase into the scheme, a pilot of varied engagement processes and the successful registration of the first three NSW Local Scheme providers.

The Registrar is pleased to announce the release of the Registrar of Community Housing – Annual Statement of Performance 2019.

This report details our performance and work in regulating community housing providers in NSW under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) and the NSW Local Scheme (NSWLS) and demonstrates our performance against public value, our strategic plan and the principles of NRSCH, including areas for improvement as well as successes.

Our Annual Statement of Performance charts the progress of our office over the last year and sets the direction, goals and priorities for the coming year.

The Registrar has recently published a Performance Report on NSW Tier 1 and 2 Community Housing Providers (CHPs).

The report provides insights on the trends and patterns of NSW Tier 1 and 2 CHPs, and takes a closer look at the financial pressures, economic drivers, the housing policy and program environment and the sector's ability to respond to emerging issues.
