The Registrar of Community Housing's office is responsible for the registration and regulation of community housing providers in NSW.
The Registrar administers a regulatory code under the Housing Regulation 2009 and the Housing Act 2001 (NSW).
The new regulatory system replaces the Performance Based Registration System (PBRS) and commenced on 1 May 2009. The registration of all community housing providers is anticipated to take two years.
The objective of the Registrar's office is to provide assurance for a viable community housing sector which ensures quality housing for residents.
