Housing NSW
Housing NSW is the umbrella organisation for government housing initiatives in NSW. Housing NSW provides quality rental housing solutions for those whose needs cannot be met by the private market.

 

NSW Community Housing Division
The NSW Community Housing Division has the charter to undertake the strategic development of the community housing sector and promote client-focused and efficient service delivery. The Office is entrusted with ensuring the community housing system is effectively managed, operates in the public interest and is accountable to Government.

 

Aboriginal Housing Office
The NSW Aboriginal Housing Office has four main priorities - to develop a viable Aboriginal housing sector, increase focus on asset management, increase access to safe, affordable and culturally appropriate housing and promote employment opportunities for Aboriginal people within the sector.

 

NSW Federation of Housing Associations inc
Community housing in NSW provides affordable rental housing to people on low to moderate incomes. The Federation assists people in solving their housing difficulties by providing quality, low cost and affordable housing solutions; being responsive to local needs; encouraging tenant involvement; achieving the highest standards for accountability, efficiency and community service.

 

Association to Resource Cooperative Housing (ARCH)
ARCH is the peak resourcing agency for Housing Co-operatives in NSW. It assists interested groups of people statewide to plan, develop and establish housing co-operatives. It also undertakes representation, advocacy, networking, education and training, program and policy development, information provision, planning and project development on behalf of NSW co-ops.

 

Churches Community Housing Inc. (CCH)
Churches Community Housing Inc. (CCH), is an ecumenical organisation established to give Churches information and practical assistance about how to develop affordable, secure and appropriate community housing for people on a low income and special needs.

 

Homelessness NSW
Homelessness NSW is a broad based peak body whose members include services that provide accommodation, support and other services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

 

Youth Accommodation Association
The Youth Accommodation Association is a peak body that seeks to advocate for and improve access to support services for young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in NSW.

 

Women’s Refuge Resource Centre
The NSW Women's Refuge Movement Resource Centre is the central contact for the NSW Women's Refuge Movement. The WRM is a network of 53 women's refuges situated across New South Wales providing support and accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence.

 

Shelter NSW
Shelter NSW is a non-government, non-profit, social change agency committed to working for a fair and just housing system. We advocate for the housing interests of low-income and disadvantaged people, and provide community education to build the capacity of non-profit organisations to provide housing and housing-related services.

 

Office of Fair Trading (Consumer Trade and Tenancy Tribunal – CTTT)
The CTTT deals with matters under the following 8 Divisions: home building; residential parks; motor vehicle; retirement villages; tenancy; general; strata and community schemes; commercial. The role of the CTTT is to provide an independent, low cost and accessible dispute resolution forum to the people of NSW who are parties in consumer or tenancy disputes.

 

NSW Tenants Union (TU)
The NSW Tenants Union (TU) is a specialist Community Legal Centre that aims to represent the interests of all tenants in NSW. This includes private and public tenants, boarders and lodgers and residential park residents.

 

NSW Ombudsman Office
The NSW Ombudsman investigates and reports on complaints about the conduct of a NSW agency or their employee, including both government and some non-Government agencies.

Administrative Decisions Tribunal
The main functions of the ADT are to:

  • review specific administrative decisions of New South Wales Government agencies
  • resolve discrimination and retail lease disputes, and
  • exercise disciplinary and regulatory functions over a range of professional and occupational groups.

Housing Appeals Committee
The Housing Appeals Committee (HAC) is an independent agency who can review decisions of social housing providers.
